Finding Peace in the Present: The Power of Embracing What You Have

Do you take time to reflect on and appreciate what you have right now?

In this video, Nick Kemp explores the significance of being present and finding contentment in the moment. He discusses how simple experiences, like spending time in nature, can ground us and enhance our ability to live more mindfully.

Appreciating what you have

Nick: We're always craving and seeking more than we really need, and we suffer because of that. Because we're always wanting more, and we're never satisfied. But you're right, we have more than enough. So I guess it's important to be present, to find contentment in what we already have.

And I love that idea of nature, it seems like we've lost our connection to nature, and we suffer because of that, as well. I like this idea of oneness with nature, and I guess, connection with others. And that's something I think we're missing in the modern world—we don't consider nature as a pillar of health, and we're connecting less with people, while we tend to connect more online than we do in person.

And we seem to have all these problems of loneliness, sadness, and depression. So I think you're right, we have everything we need, we're just ignoring what we need, and chasing unrealistic ideas of what we think is prosperity. As you mentioned, we might be chasing money or wealth or success. But maybe if we stop, we would realize, 'Oh, I already have a lot I can be grateful for.'
