I want to tell you about Christopher Tan.

Chris is the Chief Executive Officer of Providend, a fee-only wealth advisory and licensed fund management firm in Singapore. He tried various ways to help his clients find their purpose in life, such as Bill Barach’s values-based selling approach, and even created his own Finishing-Well model, but it proved too complicated.

When Chris joined me on my podcast, he shared:

"When I graduated from the Ikigai Tribe Coach certification program, I started doing workshops for my clients. And Nick, every time we send out an invitation, every single time, they fill out in a few days. People are very interested in this whole idea of ikigai.

I feel that I haven't done justice in delivering the workshop at a quality that I wish I can, and I am improving on it. But yet, with the limited experience, with the workshop being not so good, each time that we end the workshop, people come to me and thank me. I have people coming to me in tears, telling me that they are very grateful, that whatever I've shared about ikigai affirms their beliefs. I have clients that make big decisions to change their lives after that workshop. We've had people who decided to retire and pursue their ikigai.

So, thank you. I learned all these things from you. I wouldn't have been able to do these things without understanding it from your teachings. Obviously, I'm still learning. I don't think I am deep enough yet. I think the world is a better place when people understand what ikigai is truly about."

That’s what happens when you learn ikigai coaching from its cultural source instead of relying on popular misinterpretations—you change people’s lives.

Chris may be humble about his ability, but the impact he is having is undeniable.
