What Makes Nick a Great Guest
Ikigai has become one of the most misunderstood and misappropriated words from Japan. You’ve probably seen the myths:
- That ikigai is an Okinawan word.
- That it’s the Japanese “secret to longevity.”
- That it’s a Venn diagram about finding your bliss
- That it’s about pursuing a single “life purpose.”
None of this is true. Nick can clear up these misconceptions and bring your audience a rare, culturally accurate perspective on ikigai. He draws from decades of personal experience in Japan and extensive interviews with Japanese researchers.
Why Your Audience Will Thank You
Having Nick on your show means your audience gets:
- Japanese wisdom explained in a practical way.
- A refreshing take on ikigai beyond Western clichés.
- Stories and insights from years of research and lived experience in Japan.
- Insights on the new psychological concept of Rolefulness
By featuring Nick, you’ll stand out as one of the few podcast hosts who gets ikigai right. Instead of romanticized myths, your audience will hear how ikigai truly functions in Japanese culture—and how they can apply it to create a life worth living.
