Time and time again we have been sold that if we achieve happiness we will be fulfilled. This is a myth which is reflected in today's high rates of anxiety and depression. Even when someone seems to have it all, there can be a lack of fulfilment and wellbeing.

 

I coach people skills, using Japanese Psychology and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) in managing the landscape of emotions that naturally ebb and flow and are a part of the human experience. It is often the struggle we have with the uncomfortable thoughts and emotions that is the problem, not the thoughts and emotions themselves.

Ikigai is a simple, but powerful addition to my toolbox, opening the door to a wider perspective on the beauty life offers and a sense of fulfilment in the simple things in our lives that are often clouded, but mean so much.
